Full Time Archaeologist (m/f/d)

The company ArcTron – Excavations & Computer Documentation GmbH has been successfully active as an archaeological specialist company in Bavaria and neighbouring federal states since 1993.

We are looking for an archaeologist (m/f/d) to join our team.

Position: open-ended
Salary/wage: by arrangement
Working hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
To be occupied: as of 1. August 2020

Your Responsibilities:

  • the scientific and technical monitoring of archaeological excavations, mainly in Bavaria within a radius of approx. 250 km around Regensburg
  • continuous documentation of excavations using modern technologies: tacheometric surveying, photogrammetry, CAD planning, databases, hand drawings (previous knowledge in these areas is expressly desired and should be specified in the application)
  • the preparation of corresponding scientific excavation reports and publications
  • administrative handling, from customer inquiries to project completion
  • creating and editing CAD plans

What you should offer:

  • a completed degree in Prehistory and Early History, Provincial Roman Archaeology or Medieval Archaeology
  • excavation experience and joy and interest in practical excavation work
  • as a member of the management team, you are able to work in a team, are committed and flexible in terms of time and location.
  • a communicative and resilient personality with good social skills, to enjoy working as part of a team
  • a class 3 driver’s license

The salary of the position is based on the personal qualifications as well as previous work experience.
